From Golden Empire to the NFL: Wolverine Alum Kyrie Wilson Signs with the Oakland Raiders

Back in 2016, the Golden Empire Youth Football (GEYF) community erupted in celebration as one of their own, Kyrie Wilson, signed with the Oakland Raiders. This exciting news marked a significant achievement for the talented young athlete who honed his skills as a member of the Wolverine team within the GEYF program.

Kyrie’s journey to the NFL began right here in Bakersfield. Through hard work and dedication on the fields of Golden Empire, he developed his football skills and fostered a deep love for the game. His impressive performance continued at Fresno State, showcasing his talent and potential to scouts.

Although undrafted in 2016, Kyrie’s perseverance paid off when the Oakland Raiders recognized his abilities and offered him a contract.
